Terms & Conditions
This service is owned and operated by Check Buy Drive Ltd. ("Us" or "We").
By using this service, you agree to be legally bound by these terms ("Terms"). If you disagree, please do not use the service.
The service:This website and the reports it generates.
You: The user of this service.
Service: The data check service provided by Check Buy Drive.
Our service is exclusively for private vehicle buyers, not members of the Motor Trade.
Data extraction using automated software is prohibited.
Your use of this service must comply with our Terms.
We take reasonable steps to provide accurate and up-to-date data.
Data is presented on an "as is" basis and should not be relied upon in isolation.
Our service aggregates data from a variety of third-party sources, including government agencies, statutory databases, commercial data partners, and auction aggregators. You acknowledge that data availability depends on external providers and that delays, omissions, or processing lags may occur between an event taking place, being recorded by an external source, and becoming available to our systems. We cannot guarantee that all historical or recent events are captured or updated instantaneously.
A Check Buy Drive report is a digital data search reflecting records available at the exact date and time of query. It does not constitute a physical mechanical inspection, bodywork inspection, structural safety assessment, or roadworthiness certification. You must not rely solely on our report when purchasing a vehicle. We strongly advise carrying out independent pre-purchase physical inspections, VIN/chassis stamping verifications, and logbook (V5C) checks prior to entering into any transaction.
We make no guarantees about the correctness of the data provided.
Risks such as purchasing a "ringed" or "cloned" vehicle are not covered by our service.
Our liability is limited to the price paid for the report. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.
We are not liable for errors, omissions, or delays caused by third-party data providers (DVLA, insurers, police, etc.).
Under no circumstances shall Check Buy Drive Ltd be liable for any loss of bargain, diminution in vehicle value, repair costs, or incidental losses arising from the absence, delay, or inaccuracy of third-party salvage auction listings or private auction data.
If flagged as stolen by the police, we may pass your details to law enforcement.
This applies only if the vehicle's registration number matches police records.
All service-related intellectual property is owned or licensed by us.
Unauthorized use, reproduction, or redistribution is prohibited and may be unlawful.
Our service is available exclusively to residents of England, Scotland, and Wales ("Territory").
By using the service, you confirm that your residency complies with these Terms.
You cannot cancel the contract, and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 do not apply.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England.
Disputes Disputes may be referred to arbitration, with an arbitrator appointed at our sole discretion without affecting your right to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
This agreement is between You and Us exclusively.
Sharing the data with third parties breaches the Terms, and such data will hold no warranty.
Our data does not provide an indication of a vehicle's roadworthiness.
Check Buy Drive bases its advice to customers on whether or not charges apply for entering the newly expanded ULEZ on the latest information available. Due to ongoing political disputes over the expanded ULEZ, Check Buy Drive does not accept any liability whatsoever in connection with Check Buy Drive advice to customers that ULEZ is not applicable.
All purchased reports must be used within two (2) years from the date of purchase. Any reports not used
within this period will automatically expire and no longer be available for use. We may, acting reasonably,
issue a pro-rata refund for any report that has been partially used or otherwise remains outstanding.
Your statutory refund rights under UK consumer law remain unaffected.
Certain optional data elements, including but not limited to vehicle valuation data, may be included as part of specific report packages. This is supplementary only and not essential to the core report. Such data is provided on an “as available” basis and we make no guarantee that it will be present in every report. Availability may vary depending on third-party sources, package type, and the information held on the vehicle in question.
Nature of Salvage Data: Salvage auction records and historical imagery are compiled from participating third-party commercial auction houses, salvage handlers, and independent web aggregators. They do not constitute an exhaustive, official, or statutory register.
No Guarantee of Completeness: We do not warrant or represent that our salvage check captures every salvage auction listing, sale, or historical damage event in the United Kingdom. Certain auction houses, private sales, and salvage lots may not be indexed, available, or licensed for reporting.
Absence of Records: The absence of a salvage auction record in a report confirms only that no matching record was found in the third-party databases accessible to us at the time of your search. It does not guarantee that the vehicle has never been involved in an accident, damaged, repaired, or offered for auction.
MIAFTR vs Salvage: Salvage auction history is separate and independent from official insurance write-off data (MIAFTR Category A, B, S, or N). A vehicle may appear in a salvage auction without being registered as an insurance write-off, and conversely, an insurance write-off may not have an associated auction listing.
Always verify data independently before purchasing a vehicle.
Our service is only one step in ensuring a safe transaction.
